For a year and a half I’ve been working with the leadership team at Emarsys APAC, the MarTech company and now part of SAP.

In the picture are the remaining cohort, and last Thursday was the kick-off for Phase 3 of their year-long program.

We witnessed the team grow in the areas that I, their CEO Adam Ioakim and HRD Charles Lam consciously designed together at every stage, and it has been totally massive. Sh*t makes me well up.

It’s set the bar high for future partners for me because I demand partnership, and they over-delivered.

Everything we designed is through the lens of the values of their business. Yes, I did all the heavy lifting on coms, design, and delivery, and we were all a team.

The greatest thing a leader can do for their teams development is to demonstrate their commitment to their own development. Adam Ioakim has done that in buckets.

Our mission was:

"Creating authentic, self-aware leaders, who cascade; the love for what they do, the business values and have an impact on business."

In three phases:

Phase 1. Awareness

Phase 2. Relationships

Phase 3. Impact

Right now I cannot wait till next week to begin to support the work on the final “Leadership Assignments”, projects bringing it all together.

A big take out has been “connection”. The only theme (there were two minor in each phase) that was in all phases. And the most moving comments were about the openness and impact of seeing the humanness through sharing of all colleagues across many countries.

Man, I love doing this, seeing it all the way through, and I could not have had a better team to work with throughout this year; it’s going to be a great quarter.

Thank you, all of you!

(and thanks to the final cohort for your permissions for the picture, and I’ll see the rest of you soon)
